Please
review these basic guidelines for submission:
~ Use Times New Roman 12 pt. type.
~ Double space.
~ Do not indent paragraphs.
~ Use only one space after each period.
~ Write out numbers under 10. Use numerical numbers for 10
and over.
~ Do not bold.
~ Times should be keyed in this format: 3 p.m., 10:30
a.m. (not 3:00 PM)
~ Dollar amounts should be keyed in this format: $7 or
$14.50 (not $7.00)
Copy should
include the following:
~ An interesting opening and a compelling closing.
~ A creative writing style that includes a solid base of
information. We are about uncovering the “best” of a
person, place or thing. Articles should be informative,
compelling and when applicable, include humor.
~ Supporting quotes from sources.
~ Interesting use of words allowing for very
little repetition.
~ Confirmed facts and correct spelling of all names
mentioned in article.
We do not publish
copy related to the following:
~ Negative information related to any topic.
~ News related to current events (example: war, politics and
environmental issues).
~ Sex, people connections, dating or escorts services, roommate
services or profanity.
We are unable to feature
every article we receive.
Photos - We welcome high-resolution digital images to
accompany articles. Please send them in TIFF or JPEG format.
Include a description for each image, including all persons’
names and any other information needed to accompany the photo.
We may or may not run the photo depending on available space and
photo content.
