Floating Orbs
By Christiane Francin

A century ago, Asian fishermen used blown glass balls to float their nets. Sometimes they broke free of the nets, traveling thousands of miles to wash up on West Coast beaches. Beachcombers have prized finding the original glass net floats which are rarely washed up these days.
Orbs are attractive in your home or garden, and of course, will gracefully float in a pond, birdbath, or pool. They add a splash of whimsy to your outdoor environment. Floating glass balls may even protect your pond fish from predators.
Using non-lead weights are recommended when you have fish in your pond.
Imagine walking towards your pool and seeing a bit colorful, floating art! Your guests will be surprised as they as they see your playful and creative approach to outdoor design.
Look for them in garden shops or online. It is a great way to spruce up your water feature!
