Lake Venice Golf Club offers Florida golf the way it
should be. You will be surrounded by plenty of sunshine,
trees, water and wildlife. You can spot ospreys and
eagles, and possibly even notice a gator monitoring the
water hazard. Lake Venice Golf Club provides a gorgeous
and affordable place to play golf. Since 1958, this golf
club has been serving the community and its visitors.
The extensive 27-hole course offers memberships, but is
not a private club. It is open for everyone to enjoy.
What else makes this course different? You can walk or
ride at any time without reserving tee times. No tee
times and the option to walk the course is just the
icing on the cake. They have a first-rate Pro Shop
staffed with smiling faces. The atmosphere is casual and
relaxing. It’s a “where-everyone-knows-your-name” kind
of place, and a great spot to meet all types of people.
There is no housing around the golf course, and the Gulf
of Mexico, just across the street, provides a breeze
which makes it cooler than other locations in the
summer. According to manager Rod Parry, “Lake Venice
offers a challenging game of golf where you’ll use all
of your clubs. We’ll give you the par 5, but you have to
play the par 3s – they are the teeth of this course.”
Golf is a game of scrutiny, it teaches honor, and it’s a
game you can play for life. “It never hurts to learn,”
says Rod as he looks out over the course, “even if you
only play a little.” When speaking with Rod, you can
sense the respect and the awe he has for the game, the
course, and the people. He and his staff are proud that
they are able to provide a great public golfing venue at
an affordable price. Lake Venice Golf Club also has 9-
and 18-hole leagues.
Lake Venice Golf Club is a place where you can bring the
whole family. You can play golf, walk the beach, fish
off the pier, or swim in the Gulf of Mexico, and it is
all within walking distance of the golf club. Now that’s
paradise!
